Our Family

Burnet, Drury, Finley, McClaughry, Morrow, Parshall, Reid

Welcome to our website. These pages are being created to honor all members of our family who came before us. Most of these families had members who were early settlers in Little Britain, New York. Little Britain is located in the western portion of the Town of New Windsor in Orange County, NY. Until about 1798, the portion of Orange County which takes in the Town of New Windsor and Little Britain was part of Ulster County, NY.

Enjoy your visit.

I wish to express my sincerest thanks to the following individuals:

The late Dorothy Opal Titus Finley, my grandmother, who handed down to me a handwritten Finley Family tree which sparked my interest in my family genealogy and history and provided me with a reliable starting point which saved me years of research.

The late Miss Margaret Wallace, a lifetime resident of Little Britain who wrote a series of articles between 1966 and 1982, published in the Orange County Post, Washingtonville, NY. These articles provided much historical information about the community I grew up in and genealogy about my family.

Glenn Marshall, Town of New Windsor Historian, who provides whatever information he has available to all who ask about people or places in historical New Windsor, NY via the Orange County Gen Web Forum

Last, but not least, a big thank you to all my Fellow Genealogy Buffs who so freely share their research via GEDCOM, Query Boards and E-Mail.

This site is constantly being updated so please visit often. If you find any errors, have questions or have any additional information to share please email me.
